Milling Barn woodland wedding
Milling Barn was stunning the location for Verity and Tom’s magical woodland wedding, it was such a pleasure to be a part of their amazing day. A day full of fun, laughter and although a few small hiccups in the morning they took them all in their stride. It was lovely to work alongside Jenny Buckland getting all the girls ready in the morning.
Holding a wedding that is true to yourselves in my option the key to the success of a wedding day and Verity and Tom certainly made their day their own. Sign Language brought them together and was a key theme running throughout their day, from their table to plan and name places to the first ever sign language first dance I have ever seen. All so beautifully thought out by them both. The outdoor ceremony was perfect for their relaxed day and Verity’s love of trees was a beautiful theme running throughout the day and I hope captured in the photography. The woodland setting is beautiful at Milling Barn and perfect for a relaxed outdoor ceremony.
I cannot thank Verity and Tom enough for inviting me to share their amazing day and to their family and friends for making me feel so welcome.
Verity and Tom have kindly shared the suppliers who helped to create their beautiful day and a few of the photographs that I captured which give a taste of their day.

Our photographer, Julia was a big part of our day. When Tom and I were searching for a photographer we felt it was important to have someone who is down to earth like us. We met Julia at Hatfield House Wedding fare on 29th October 2017. We both felt we had an instant connection with Julia. She is so personable and very genuine. Despite initially being a little out of our price range, it was an easy decision and we decided her photography would be worth it. We can honestly say it was! Julia is very professional and was prompt with communication throughout the process. We looked forward to meeting up with her every time , she is so friendly and she really knows her stuff, she put us at ease answering any questions we had. On our big day she was flexible to changes made last minute. We felt like she did more than her role of photographer, she helped to make the day run smoothly. Family and friends commented on what an amazing job she did, she was great at rounding everyone up and she honestly felt like one of the family by the end of the day. When Tom and I returned from our honeymoon we received our photos….. wow! They were incredible, Julia has such an eye for photography and you can see the passion in her personality and her work. Julia really is incredible if you’re reading this and looking for a photographer don’t think twice, you will not be disappointed. So glad we went with our instinct!
Best memory of your wedding day – Verity– for me it was defiantly walking down the aisle. I felt like a princess and it was so beautiful in the woodlands. I remember taking in every second, to the left of me was my family and friends and they were all smiling at me and to the right were my future in laws ready to embrace me into their family. Then I looked forward and saw my husband to be;Tom. He looked so handsome, he turned around in the last second and with his eyes welled up he told me how beautiful I looked and I thought in that moment how truly lucky I am to be marrying him. Tom– It was seeing Verity walking down the aisle. She took my breathe away, it was amazing to see her in the dress that I had long anticipated to see her in and she looked truly beautiful.
Advice to future couples planning a wedding away from where they live. – We were only 45 minutes away from our venue so it wasn’t too bad. I would not have wanted to be too far away as it is important to be able to meet with the team for meetings and to be local enough to pop in if needed. It also meant less travelling, so less stress. I would recommend being open and honest with the venue from the beginning as they want the day to run as smooth as you do.
Anything you would change. – I think try to do as much as you can yourselves as its important to have your vision come to life for your big day but also don’t be afraid to ask for help. It is a massive event which does get stressful so people will always be there to help, so let them.
