Old Palace Hatfield House Rosie & Jack’s Summer Wedding

Weddings

Bride & Groom sitting at the monument to Queen Elizabeth I at the Old Palace Hatfield House Hertfordshire

I have a very special love for the Old Palace at Hatfield House. This magical wedding venue really has it all to offer. If you are looking for a beautiful historical wedding venue this is one to look at.

Rosie & Jack fell in love with the Old Palace, with the beautiful grounds and many photo opportunities. It was at a wedding fair here that I first met them.

Kind words from Rosie & Jack

As soon as we met Julia, we knew we wanted her to be our wedding photographer. We met her at the Hatfield House wedding fair and her experience and familiarity with the venue instantly put as at ease. Her photography is truly beautiful and we knew we wanted her to capture our big day. From our engagement photoshoot, to planning our wedding with her, up until the big day itself, working with Julia has been such a joy.

Not only is she incredibly talented and amazing at her craft, she is a wonderfully warm person. It made such a difference on the wedding day working with someone we felt comfortable and at ease with. The photos she has captured of our wedding day are absolutely beautiful and capture memories we will treasure for a lifetime. Thank you Julia, for everything!

Why did you chose Old Palace Hatfield House?

We chose the Old Palace Hatfield House after we came to visit for a day out in August 2021, before we were even engaged! We always knew we wanted to get married and we thought it was an amazing venue. This was the starting point for planning our wedding.

Rosie also specialised in Tudor history at university, so it felt like a perfect fit to get married in the same place where Elizabeth I grew up and found out she was going to be queen.

Best Memory of the Day

It’s hard to pinpoint a specific moment because everything was so magical, however getting to see all of our guests enjoying the beautiful grounds of the Old Palace, eating ice creams, drinking prosseco and celebrating together (in sunny weather!) was such a special moment – it was everything we could have possibly hoped for.

Any Advice for couples planning their wedding!

Do everything you can to deliver an amazing experience for your guests, because seeing them enjoy the day is so worthwhile. They will be so grateful for the little details and extra steps you put into planning for them. However, remember that at the end of the day, it is your wedding day, so make the decisions that feel right for the two of you as a couple!
