Hampden House Wedding Venue
Set within the rolling hills of the chilterns Hampden House is a private house which hosts a very limited number of weddings each year. In fact if you are lucky enough to have your wedding here you are in a very exclusive club.
I first got introduced to Hampden House by one of my 2018 wedding couples. It was clear to see exactly why this country house makes a stunning venue.
Fay and Alex feel in love with the stylish house the dramatic country side views and the amazing staff. Having exclusive use of the venue is wonderful too.
Fay and her bridesmaids had a wonderful morning getting ready in the beautiful rooms that have the most luxurious carpets to walk on!
Surrounded by all their friends and family Fay & Alex said I do’ in the grand hall. Following the ceremony we enjoyed drinks on the lawn and time for photographs.
We had a very special visit from Buckingham Fire and Rescue .. not because there was a fire but to wish Alex and Fay well as Alex is a fireman.
Not to be upstaged Fay also had their two adorable dogs come for a short while just for photos. Both Ember and Blue were very excited to see mummy and daddy and looked beautiful in their special collars.
I love the grandeur yet intimacy of the dinning room, its such a beautiful room for a wedding breakfast.
Fay & Alex have kindly shared a few moments from their day.
Best memory of your wedding day
Having a moment to ourselves with Alex’s son, to have some photos with our two Labradors, Ember and Blue. I really treasure those photos.
Any advice to future couples planning a wedding?
The usual thing everyone says – it goes so quickly! Do not stress the details, you just won’t notice them on the day. I didn’t get chance to have a canapé, dessert or cake, but it didn’t matter.
Anything you would change?
Try and eat a canapé and/or dessert I would actually have had an earlier ceremony – the day just whizzed by as we got married at 3.30pm
Kind words from Fay & Alex
Julia was recommended to us by the team at our wedding venue. We met her at her home for an informal chat – she showed us some albums from recent weddings, and we really liked her style of photography. We didn’t feel any pressure to make an immediate decision, but she was an obvious choice for us because we felt very easy in her company. I also liked that she clearly cared about the couples she worked with, and remembered details about their weddings. On the day, Julia was amazingly helpful, calm, organised and creative. It was lovely to have her as part of our day – she managed the different groups of people brilliantly, but was very subtle for key moments. We have some great photos from the ceremony, but I didn’t even notice Julia taking them! We love our photos – and Julia also did an extra ‘trash the dress’ photoshoot with me and my horse! Those photos are wonderful too. Julia made a real effort when we met with her to see our photos, and our album is gorgeous. Thoroughly recommended!
