Gosfield Hall Wedding Photography || Sophie and Dean’s stunning wedding.
Gosfield Hall is a stunning Georgian mansion set in beautiful grounds of the Essex Country side and was the perfect choice for Sophie and Dean’s beautiful Christmas Wedding.
It was a suitably cold crisp yet bright sunny day and you could be forgiven for thinking this was a warm spring day yet at a little above 5*C it wasn’t a day for spending too long outside!. This was my first time shooting a wedding at Gosfield Hall, and I was suitably impressed it is a photographers dream with endless amounts of photography locations, both inside and out so whatever the weather we were always going to have an amazing day.
Both Sophie and Dean chose to get ready at Gosfield Hall so I was able to see them both before the ceremony to capture the moments of them and their bridal party getting ready.
Sophie got ready in the gorgeous Rococca Bridal Suite, with its beautiful full length mirrors, offering us magical photography opportunities. Sophie’s hair was beautifully created by Kim – Sandford Hairdressing & makeup by Danielle Copeland. Sophie looked gorgeous in her Eliza Jane Howell beaded dress complimented with a stunning bouquet and elegant jewelry given to her by Dean and her parents and topped off with a pair of Jimmy Choo.
I knew that Sophie and Dean wanted their photography to relaxed informal and capture their wedding day story and love throughout the day. Family is very important to them both and I made sure we took this opportunity to create the beautiful family portraits the family would treasure long after the wedding day had passed. It was a day full of emotions from the huge smiles on Sophie’s dad’s face when he first saw his daughter to the discrete tear on Dean’s mum’s face during the ceremony.
There are a number of rooms that you can hold your wedding ceremony in but Sophie and Dean chose the 120 foot-long Queen Charlotte’s gallery which gave Sophie a long but very memorable walk down the aisle with her dad who gave her away and an even more memorable first walk for both Sophie and Dean as husband and wife.
Following a beautiful ceremony I am honored that Sophie, Dean and their guests were brave enough to venture outside into the courtyard for the large family and friends group photographs. Sophie and Dean also stayed out for a few extra minutes for some beautiful bridal portraits in front of the the iconic blue door which is very well known at Gosfield. We ventured back inside for family group photographs on the stairs.
Our timing couldn’t have been more perfect for some bridal portraits at the back of the house just as the winter sun was setting softly against the house, using the stunning architecture these beautiful moments captured forever.
Following the drinks reception and beautiful music played by the very talented violinist Hayley Pomfrett, the wedding party made their way to the Royal Ballroom for the wedding breakfast. The beautiful ballroom was elegantly decorated and themed in gold with center pieces uniquely designed by Sophie. Following an amazing wedding breakfast we all enjoyed the speeches given by Sophie’s Dad, Dean and Dean’s bestman his brother and few embarrassing moments were shared!
Sophie and Dean’s beautiful cake stood center stage by the stair case where everyone gathered for them to cut it, made by Sophie’s very talented friend Kelly Noonan. Once the cake was cut it was time for the first dance and father daughter dance.
Sophie and Dean were very brave to venture outside with me for a few moments for a few photographs outside Gosfield Hall before we retired to the warmth of the Grand Salon where we enjoyed a quiet moment before rejoining the party.
The whole day from start to finish was amazing I thank Sophie, Dean and all their friends and family for making me feel so welcome and accommodating on the day.
Below are just a few of the beautiful moments from this stunning winter wedding which I hope you will enjoy seeing.
