My 1st wedding of 2019 has got the year off to the best start possible, I am not sure even I would have believed we could have been blessed with such a glorious weekend .. and in February too.

Fiona and Paul have been so wonderful to work with, relaxed and fun was definitely the key to the success of their beautiful day. I met Fiona at Sopwell house where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the beautiful suits, it was a hive of activity. Chloe was amazing getting all the girls make up complete and they all looked amazing, Vicky working on the girls hair so they all looked so beautiful. I caused a bit of a stir climbing into a water feature to get the photographs of the girls in their personalised dressing gowns.

Shenley CC had been beautifully styled with a flower wall and blossom trees and beautiful flowers throughout by the talented Maple Flowers. A slight mishap was averted as Dan rushed back home to save the day and bring the wedding rings which certainly saved the day.

The Girls arrived in style thanks to Sean of Charlesworth classic cars with the bridesmaids in his white London cab and Fiona and her dad in a beautiful classic Rolls Royce.

Following the beautiful ceremony we enjoyed the warm spring weather with group photographs on the grounds of Shenley. Making the most of such a beautiful day Fiona and Paul joined me for some beautiful photographs of the two of them around Shenley Walled Garden, although the gardens themselves weren’t open we enjoyed walking around the area outside and in the most amazing spring light created some beautiful portraits.

Fiona had spent a considerable amount of time and effort in her vision for the Marquee, beautiful styling greeted us with vintage teacups, vases, teapots all filled with beautiful flowers set off against vintage books the wedding breakfast set us was truly beautiful.

Following speeches, cake cutting and first dance, Fiona and Paul graciously came outside to a chilly evening for me to create the wow end photo I always aim to get for my wedding couples and I think you would agree we certainly had that.

Fiona has kindly shared the suppliers she used along with some kind words on working with me.. why not take a look at this beautiful wedding .. please enjoy.

We decided on a February autumn wedding as my sister got married the year before and I wanted to get married asap after so chose February! I chose a vintage theme as it’s something I have always liked, I like things that are old and have character and it’s a bit of me. I wanted to be creative and really reflect mine and Paul’s styles so decided to do a lot myself! All the Centre pieces were a mixture of car boots, vintage fairs, my mums old vases and charity shops, affordable and lots of character and I’m a bit OCD when it comes to organising and wanted to do most things myself! Decided on a flower wall because of the time of year and was preparing for the worst weather wise, so we could have a nice photo backdrop!

I met Julia at St Albans wedding fair and I instantly felt a connection and had to have her on our big day! Julia was so professional and made me feel so at ease and her love of weddings was evident. Paul and I then arranged to meet her and go through what we wanted on our day beforehand as well as meeting her at our venue 2 months before to discuss photos and the run through for the day! Julia honestly saw things that we never knew were there and knew it will make a great picture so I was excited for the day to see her in action.

It was honestly a pleasure to have had Julia as part of our wedding day, I could not have asked for a better photographer, it almost felt like a family member being there with you. She would do anything to get the perfect shot, and that included getting in a water feature as well as laying in the grass and on the gravel car park in the dark, she will go to any length to get the shot! And all I can say is that all her hard work paid off, after meeting up with her the other night for her to show us our wedding photos, they are all stunning and she captured our wedding day perfectly. Paul and I could not thank Julia enough, we love every single photo and can’t wait to get our wedding album! I honestly could not recommend a more professional, caring, talented, most down to earth person to capture your special day!!

Best memory of the day- there are a couple, having all our friends and family together for our special, finally getting a little emotion out of my now husband and seeing each other at the aisle

I would not change anything other than if we could relive the day again as it went by so quickly!!
