Rosie and Mark | Deer Park Country House Wedding

Rosie and Mark, Deer Park Country House Wedding

Country House Weddings

I was supper excited when Rosie and Mark asked me to be their wedding photographer, our destination was the stunning Country House Deer Park in the rolling countryside of Devon.

A few months before the big day I met with Rosie and Mark at  Deer Park, where we were able to look around the venue and plan the family group photographs, we put together a plan b in case the weather was typically British! but on the day we were blessed with a beautiful summers day.

Rosie and her bridesmaids got ready at Rosie’s parents house which was a hive of activity and only a short walk away from the Church where the ceremony was to take place.  There had been plenty of advanced planning with home grown flowers lining the path of the church and bunting hung in the garden giving an English Garden Party feel to the morning.

I met Mark and the Church looking very calm and excited for the day ahead with his family and groomsmen.  Rosie took the short walk up the hill to the church waving to neighbors and villagers on the way.

Following the ceremony we enjoyed sometime in the grounds of the church which allowed Rosie and Mark time with their guests.

On arrival at Deer Park we were greeted by their Toast Master and drinks on the lawn.  The afternoon continued to be relaxed for everyone, enjoying a beautiful afternoon.

The Orangery was beautifully decorated and the flowers filled the room with a lovely sent.  Following an exceptional wedding breakfast we enjoyed very entertaining speeches.  A band entertained us throughout the evening and the smell of homemade, stone baked pizza’s filled the air!

I thank Rosie, Mark and both their family and friends for making me feel so welcome and for inviting me to share such a wonderful day.

About Julia
We got married in Devon but I am originally from Hertfordshire and so we visited a wedding fare at Hatfield House and this was where we met Julia.  We didn’t book her straight away as we thought we would try to find some one more local to our wedding venue but we didn’t manage to find another photographer that was so friendly, made us feel comfortable in their presence and also such a great portfolio of beautiful wedding photographs which gave us confidence in her work.

On the day, Julia was everything that she had promised she would be.  We have many comments from the guests about how friendly, approachable and also unobtrusive to the day.  She was excellent at organising the group photos.  I was very pleased when Julia turned up in the morning that she was dressed in a lovely pink formal dress, and so she just fitted straight into our wedding day.  I have been to plenty of weddings where the photographer has dressed in  black and has really stood out like a sore thumb.
We could not be happier than we are with our wedding photos; they are a wonderful memory of our special day.
My best friend and maid of honor is getting married later this year and has also decided to have Julia photograph her wedding, on my recommendation.
Best memory of your wedding day
It is hard to say as the whole day went perfectly and we loved every single second.  We did however really enjoy it when we turned up at our wedding reception venue , the Deer Park Country Hotel, after getting married at church and  we just about managed to arrive before everyone else so we had  a lovely moment wandering around the beautiful garden with the pianist playing and sipping on prosecco.
Any advice to future couples planning a wedding away from where they live.

For us it was fairly easy as my parents live near where we got married so we went to visit them regularity from London to plan our wedding. We really enjoyed planning our wedding from Devon so that we could meet up with all of our suppliers before the day and familiarise ourselves with them.  Our advice would be only to plan a wedding away from where you live if you have the time to visit the area regularly to fully enjoy the wedding planning experience.

Anything you would change.

Absolutely nothing.  It was most the perfect day!
